“[It] let me reflect how I should influence others, and understand others influence. In a real life situation.”
“[I learned] about how my personality style plays a role in exerting indirect influence.”
“Today's session was a great way of identifying how a) I work in a new team setting, b) my leadership style and c) how I deal with ambiguity and new personalities on complex problems. I would love a way to work on the identified issues we addressed during our meeting.”
Each Flourish Leadership Lab is a 1.5 hour exercise that is tailored for those interested in working on their leadership skills. Participants learn how to lead themselves and others with integrity, authenticity and excellent performance. Our goal is also to help participants gain more awareness of their own leadership abilities, walk away with more experience, and get a better idea of how they can become the leader they want to be.
Flourish CEO, Paul Chen (also known as Hal5 ), will be leading this leadership exercise himself. The material is adapted from Harvard Kennedy School (Public Policy School @ Harvard), where Paul was a student. Paul is also a graduate of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, where he studied leadership and communication. He will teach us some of his secrets to success and give us that feedback we all need to improve (feedback is a gift!)
Leadership Lab sessions give us a safe and confidential space to practice leadership skills and observe how others do it too. Leadership takes practice. Yet most of us can only “practice” leadership in situations where the stakes are real and high. For example, you are a young product manager who is asked to lead a product discussion that includes the top executives of the company. How do you best run that meeting effectively? Leadership Lab gives you a practice arena to try various leadership techniques with little to no real-life consequences so that when you need to run that product discussion meeting with your CEO, you are set up for success.
